Mailing to an email distribution list is stopped by the following message:

"An error occurred while sending mail. The mail server responded: 4.2.1 Connection refused - OXSUS003_404 - https://postmaster-oxsus.vadesecure.com/#OXSUS003_404. Please check the message recipient "hlee23472@yahoo.com" and try again. "

I can delete the recipient's email in the list and re-enter it, and then this message just goes to another name, stopping the send again. Regular emails go out fine. The problem is only when using the distribution list. I am cautious about going to the web link in the message in case it is malicious.

Help, anyone?

The error is being issued by this company https://www.vadesecure.com/en/

I am guessing here that as the issue is with sending, your mail provider have retained their services and they consider you a spammer. for some reason. Perhaps you're sending to much mail to quickly. Most domestic services are limited to around 50 emails an hour., but the limits are set by providers, so you would need to check with yours.

Looking a the link you posted there is no. OXSUS003_404 but there is a OXSUS001_404 which talks of rate limiting. Given they have a new office365 product I guess the OXSUS003_404 is related to the o365 product rather than normal email. But I am guessing based on what I can find that you are being rate limited.

Thank you, Matt. Yes our neighborhood distribution list is 50 people, and two smaller lists I send to are 13 more. So I divided my large list into three smaller ones, and sent things out three times. It's a bit of a hassle to have to send three times, but it works. Appreciate your thoughts. They pointed me to my solution. Jane
