I can make different folders for bookmarks, but what's the point if clicking on the |||\ icon, and clicking on the word "bookmarks" only give this big long list of my bookmarks, instead of a short list of folders to be accessed. Yes, you can go all the way down to "Manage Bookmarks," and bring up an entirely new window, but that seems clunky and a bit ill thought out. Any way to modify Firefox to behave the way I'd like--a list of folders after clicking on "bookmarks" in "preferences?"

Perhaps I am missing something. When I click on the Bookmarks menu item it drops down a list of folders that I've put bookmarks into. I also have the Bookmarks Toolbar enabled which also has a series of folders with other folders and bookmarks.

In Manage bookmarks you can right-click on Boomarks Menu and select add folder. Then, put bookmarks into that folder.

You can drag the Bookmarks Menu button that shows the bookmarks in a drop-down list from the Customize palette to the Navigation Toolbar. See "How do I add the Bookmarks Menu button to the toolbar?"
