Why have my emails started grouping together
I've been using Thunderbird for years and had very few problems. I view and keep all my incoming and sent emails in date order, and move them to the relevant folders when they are dealt with. This morning my incoming emails also have other incoming emails, and my original sent email attached to them. I think this is called threading? but I have never set this up or asked for it, and don't even know how to do it. I'm finding this 'threading' is really annoying - I want all my emails separate and not joined or linked together. How do I disable this setting and stop all my emails joining together like this? I've looked at the help pages and the answers are too technical. I've tried the ones I can understand but they don't work. Can someone please send me a step by step solution to this? thank you Ray

In the main Thunderbird window: View (Alt-V) - Sort by - Unthreaded
Each time I search for you to resolve this issue - which ONLY started with TB v102 - people talk about changing the view on ONE folder. I want ALL (my many hundreds) of folders to go back to how they were: individual emails.
Is there anyone out there who knows how to stop this annoying new feature?
To anyone who works for Mozilla: PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE don;t force new features on your customers because YOU think it will be good for them. ASK and let them use it if they wish otherwise, don't interfere.
This is so annoying. It makes it hard to find email. I've been using Thunderbird for years but if this issue is not resolved I will have to switch apps.
Adjust the pref mailnews.default_view_flags. 0 = normal, 1 = threaded
I haven't tried this.
Many years ago, my father, who was an electrician, was describing an "improvement" to a common component in the trade. His comment has stuck with me since. His comment was that they kept "improving" the product until it was useless. This is what I've seen in many software systems, and Thunderbird appears to be following that path.
