Thunderbird crash on exit
My mom's version of Thunderbird is crashing a lot on exit. She's running the latest version of Linux Mint as OS. What is going on with this crash and how can we prevent it?

Did you try running Thunderbird in Troubleshoot mode and does the crash occur while running in Trouble shoot mode?

You may get better help at a Linux Mint forum. That version of Thunderbird is probably the default setup. I also have Linux Mint and same version of Thunderbird and am having no issues, so there may be some additional feature she is using. Solving Linux crashes is not our strong point (although someone here may have ideas.)
This is really disappointing that no one can help with this. This is not a Mint problem, this is a Thunderbird problem.

Well, that is yet to be determined.
But at this stage, even if it caused by Thunderbird, a fix will not be forthcoming in version 91 which is what you are running.
I would advise installing version 102 from https://www.thunderbird.net/
Restarting Troubleshoot mode fixed the problem. We checked the two boxes that kept those changes permanent and the crash issue is gone. Many thanks! We also looked at Thunderbird 102 but decided the changes there would be too dangerous (resetting message filters would be a big problem).
