eBay search problem after recent update

I don't know what caused this but my searches at eBay are screwed up. This started happening after a recent Firefox update but it could have been initiated by an errant keystroke. I don't know.

I often do "wildcard" searches of eBay. Now when I type "(" for a wildcard search, some other word (or words) that I had previously searched for appears in the search bar and a menu pops up with "Recent Searches", "Saved Searches" and "Saved Sellers". Ironically, in that Saved Seller menu a seller is displayed that I purchased an item from, probably a year ago, but that seller is NOT in my saved sellers!!!

I've tried all I can figure to do in the browser settings to correct this, to no avail.

Now for the keystroke part... I was in the process of starting a wildcard search when this started happening. I accidentally hit the key (I'm not sure what it's purpose is) below the right Shift key (looks like a menu with an arrow) simultaneously, as well as the "9" key (for left parenthesis) . I remember a "menu" popped up below the search, but I clicked off of it in the search bar. That's when the stuff hit the fan.

BUT... it was also the first search I was performing after a Firefox update. HELP!

Basically, How do I defeat this "suggestion" menu. It wasn't there before. I can't get a screenshot of it since, when I right click, it disappears.

Hmm, I just thought about the possibility that my errant keystroke could have activated this at eBay somehow. Going to investigate now.

I don't see how to activate being notified when/if someone replies to this post so... I'll check back later.

eBay is one of those odd ball sites that seems to display oddly on firefox and have missing parts to it. Amazon works fine on it but for some reason it could be a coding issue of eBay where firefox can't display eBay site codes correctly.

Posted in the community at eBay and yep, somebody messed with the system and it's happening with a lot of people. Hope they get it fixed soon. I figured out a workaround for the time being. I guess this thread could be deleted since it appears it's an eBay issue, if the moderator sees fit.
