When I'm using Jira in Edge and I copy the URL from the browser bar, pasting from the clipboard formats the URL as a hyperlink with the title of the Jira issue. This is super convenient, and I'm hoping that the same functionality exists in Firefox and that I just haven't found it yet.

Does such a thing exist?

Yes, Firefox has a similar feature called "Paste & Go" that allows you to paste a URL from the clipboard and automatically navigate to it. However, Firefox does not format the URL as a hyperlink with a specific title like Edge does with Jira issues.

To use the "Paste & Go" feature in Firefox, you can follow these steps:

Copy the URL to your clipboard. Open a new tab in Firefox. Right-click in the address bar and select "Paste & Go" from the context menu, or press the Ctrl+Shift+V (Command+Shift+V on Mac) keyboard shortcut. Firefox will then navigate to the URL you copied from the clipboard. This feature saves you the step of manually pressing Enter after pasting the URL.

While Firefox doesn't format the URL as a hyperlink with a specific title, you can still paste the URL into various text fields or documents as plain text and it will retain the URL format. It won't automatically convert it to a hyperlink, but the URL will still be clickable if you or others interact with it.

If you're looking for more advanced features related to hyperlink formatting or handling Jira issues specifically, you might consider exploring browser extensions or add-ons that provide enhanced functionality for Jira or URL management. The Firefox add-ons marketplace offers various extensions that can extend the capabilities of the browser and provide additional features and customizations.
