GPO Search Engine: spaces replaced with pluses instead of %20
Good day.
I have created a custom Search Engine via a GPO.
The search engine is added to Firefox without issue. However, when a user enters in a search with a space, Firefox replaces the space with a "plus" instead of a %20. The search engine does not know how to interpret a "plus," so the search engine returns 'no results found.' I use the same search string in a Chrome GPO, and it works as Chrome replaces a space with a %20. Is there a way I can tweak the Search engine GPO to use %20 instead of a "plus" for a space?
Thanks.
Peter

Odd, I've never seen a search engine not support + (all the major engines do).
I'll see what I can figure out.
Can you post the full URL you are using? I ran a test using + signs and it worked for me using the keyword search generated by Firefox.
Here is the full URL.

When I add this in Chrome using Google's ADMX files, the search works fine.
The problem is with searches with spaces. So a search with a single word, like "Batman" works just fine. But a search with words with spaces, like "Wonder Woman," do not work.
Please let me know if I can provide any additional information.
Thanks again for your help.
I'm not going to have a chance to look at this for a few weeks, but I want you to know that I will look at it. Sorry for the delay.
I realize this is very old, but I did open a bug for this
