after I print something, the back button goes away. How to fix? It never did this with 3.5, but does with 4 or 5

While navigating around a site, if I stop and print a copy of a post or something, after I'm done the back button no longer works and I have to quit firefox and go back and start over. As mentioned, this never happened with earlier firefox editions, but did when I upgraded to 4.0, so I uninstalled and went back to 3.6 where the problem went away. I upgraded to 5.0 hoping the problem was fixed, but it still happens. Any way to fix this besides going back to 3.6? Thanks, Henry

Try the Firefox SafeMode.
A troubleshooting mode, which disables most Add-ons.
(If you're not using it, switch to the Default Theme.)

  1. You can open the Firefox 4/5/6/7 SafeMode by holding the Shft key when you use the Firefox desktop or Start menu shortcut.
  2. Or use the Help menu item, click on Restart with Add-ons Disabled... while Firefox is running.

To exit the Firefox Safe Mode, just close Firefox and wait a few seconds before using the Firefox shortcut (without the Shft key) to open it again.

If it is good in the Firefox SafeMode, your problem is probably caused by an extension, and you need to figure out which one.

Thanks, worked great. Problem gone in safemode so I checked out the extensions and add-ons and got rid of a bunch of old java console updates leaving only the latest one, and a few other apparently useless things I never use and it was all good after that. Whew, thanks again!
