Firefox doesn't have security alerts like that and Mozilla doesn't make "scan" software.
That was a fake scan to scare you into paying for their software to fix a non-existent problem, which would have installed Malware making things worse.

Thanks so much for the peace of mind! Am surprised some evil doer can place such a scare on a tab of my open Firefox 3.6.24 and scare me like that. Joe Cramer

The fact that you are using Mac and not Windows as these fake animated scanners try to look like should make it obvious it was well fake.

James thanks a lot. At 73 I'm not too high tech. This was the first time I'd seen something like this on my Mac, so I was panicky. The thing listed a whole bunch of different malware by name that supposedly infected me with threat levels of "high". Looked convincing to this old fart.
