Why do I get a daily download for Aurora
Almost every day my android device says that Aurora 12.0a2 is available for download. Is this a bug or is Aurora really being changed almost every day. If it is being changed then why not change the version number to 12.0a3, then 12.0a4 etc.

Yes, Aurora gets an update almost everyday.
I do not use Android!
but ordinary Firefox users stay on the Release channel. Aurora is a channel that updates on a regular basis. Maybe you would be better on the Release channel.
(just passing by so probably not a good answer - but it may point you in the right direction :-) )
I understand the need for more updates on a beta version, but as an ex software programmer I would change the version number each time so that reported problems can be associated with and tested under a specific version.
I do not use Android Aurora, but I assume there will be an associatd build number in addition to the Version number.
To report the exact version of Aurora you are using, you can navigate to about:buildconfig and copy the "built from" link.
They are suppose to only builda update when there are checkins. For the unstable Nightly channel there are checkins pretty much everyday so there is a update (sometimes two due to a respin) each day as a result. For the more stable Aurora channel the checkins can still happen (almost) every day still though if there are no checkins then there are no update until checkins happens.
Several months ago it used to be the old way of automated builds each day regardless of whether there were checkins that day or even for a month.
