I have just upgrade to Firefox 12 using XP. Firefox it does not open saying its already running. I want to find and save my Bookmarks but cannot open the progra

I have pages of bookmarks from years of reseach. I do not want to loose these, but cannot open Firefox to save them. How do I fix the problem, as well as saving my bookmarks?

Usually when this happens it just means that Firefox didn't completely quit the previous time for some reason. You can go to the task manager and quit the firefox process and probably be back in business. If you can't solve it then try to create a new profile.

See "Basic Troubleshooting: Make a new profile":

If the new profile works then you can transfer some files from the old profile to that new profile, but be careful not to copy corrupted files.
