I have a Recovery Key, but can't find where I'm to use it.
The question pretty well describes the problem. I had to replace my HD and am in the process of reinstalling everything. I now need to resync my Firefox bookmarks and need to pull them from the big cloud in the sky.
Since I needed to replace the HD I also upgraded from XP to Win 7

hello, go to firefox > options > sync > setup firefox sync > i have an account > i don't have the device with me. there you can pair your firefox to the existing account by entering all credentials (username, password, recovery key).
Hi MHP, did you check out the article I mentioned in my earlier reply?
How do I pull my bookmarks onto a new C:\ H.D
It's this part:
Do these steps on the computer you are trying to add to Firefox Sync.
1. At the top of the Firefox window, click the Firefox button (or Tools menu) and select Set Up Sync. The Firefox Sync Setup window will open.
2. Click I Have an Account.
3. Since you're not near the device with Sync already set up, click the I don't have the device with me link.
4. Sign in to your Sync account:
- Enter your account email address
- Enter your password
- Enter your Recovery Key
- Then click Next
5. You will see a Setup Complete screen. Click Finish to complete adding this device to your Sync account.
Thanks for both answers. At some point in the process I must have screwed up, because under Syncing Options, within the process, I selected to sync the data to the computer rather than the other way around, but nothing downloaded to the computer. I may have lost the bookmarks earlier in my efforts. It's not the end of the world and it gives me the opportunity to start fresh, without a lot of the URLs that were no doubt broken.
Click the "Sync Options" button at the bottom to select what to sync (Sync Options only affect the first sync)
Make sure to select this choice if you want to restore data from the Sync server.
- Replace all data on this device with my Sync data
