Try to use JPG or PNG image file format and make it public view.

You posted here with the most recent release version of Firefox - Firefox 22, so don't believe what "Facebook says". More than likely that message is aimed at naive users who will click on anything they are told to click on to deceive them into installing some unwanted garbage that might be "hell" to get rid of entirely.

You need to recognize how Mozilla updates Firefox, and ignore other "enticements", or fake warnings or alerts.
