Hello Firefox Fans -

I am working on making desktop icons that link to my website. I want my solution to work across all the major web browsers (Firefox, Chrome, IE, Safari).

I'm currently running Windows 7, and all the current Windows versions of Firefox, Chrome, IE, and Safari seem to support dragging the website icon to the desktop, and will create a shortcut that uses some version of the website's favicon for the desktop icon. Typically the favicon is put onto a white box.

But I notice that Chrome and IE both support creating a large desktop icon using a 32x32 pixel version of the favicon, while Firefox and Safari only use a 16x16 pixel icon, resulting in a desktop icon with a lot of white space around it. (This presumes that the website has produced a 32x32 version and posted it)

Is there any way to get Firefox to use the larger 32x32 favicon when creating the desktop icon?

For the record, the website I'm working on is http://brasselerusa.com/

Also for the record, I'm attempting to follow the very helpful favicon guidance of http://realfavicongenerator.net/

Thanks James Grove
