Does this add on [ Web Search Pro 3.0.7] have a sprint search?

Or is the search being hijacked? If that is the case try to manage the search engines from the search drop down triangle and see what is the default. Please also check out: Troubleshoot Firefox issues caused by malware just in case.

I have tried everything you suggested but nothing seems to work except clearing the cache, but that doesn't always help.

I don't have the addon Web Search Pro 3.0.7. I have cleared the history checked my search engines - Sprint is not on the list.

I forgot to say I'm using Ubuntu 12.04

Can you try to start Firefox in Safe Mode to see if Firefox works properly with no error? You can start Firefox in Safe Mode below:

• Windows/Mac: Go to Help > Restart with add-ons disabled
• Linux: Run firefox -safe-mode in the Terminal/Konsole

If Firefox opens up fine with no problems, it's probably one of your extensions that's causing the issue. You can re-enable your add-ons one by one until you find the one that causes the issue upon being re-enabled.

This didn't help. Firefox loaded yahoo.com and went to the Sprint search page for the very next website I tried to go to.

The Reset Firefox feature can fix many issues by restoring Firefox to its factory default state while saving your essential information.
Note: This will cause you to lose any Extensions and some Preferences. You may want to back up your extensions by using FEBE and visit https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/febe/ to see it's screenshots on how it works.

• Open websites will not be saved in Firefox versions lower than 25.

To Reset Firefox do the following:

1. Go to Firefox > Help > Troubleshooting Information.
2. Click the "Reset Firefox" button.
3. Firefox will close and reset. After Firefox is done, it will show a window with the information that is imported. Click Finish.
4. Firefox will open with all factory defaults applied.

Tried this, when I restarted Firefox it went directly to the Sprint search page while trying to go to my homepage which is yah00.com

Maybe turn on the feature that requires you to allow a redirect.

1. Please go to Options > Advanced > General
2. then check "warn me when websites try to redirect.

If it overrides this please scan for malware.

Please change your homepage in IE as well.

I'm NOT running ANY Microsoft product. I AM running Ubuntu Linux. The chances of this being a virus or malware is so slim as to be almost nonexistant.

Any Linux users have anything I could try?

Hey sorry about that. You may be affected by DNS assistance: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/searches-take-you-to-wrong-search-we... You can try to change your DNS server to 8.8.8.8..

If this is a feature of linux, is it possible that the about:config page has a default search set to this sprint search?Go the page and see if there are any strings with this sprint page in it.
