Accidentally Deleted SSL Certificates
Hi, I was trying to delete an SSL certificate, and was lazy and removed all of them. I didn't realize it would prevent me from accessing sites that use SSL.
I found an old thread with a solution for this, but something in Firefox must have changed since then, because I don't see the edit buttons they described in the old support post.
How can I restore the certificates that should be there?

hello, please reset firefox and see if this can address the issue...
You can rename the cert8.db file in the Firefox profile folder to cert8.db.old or delete the cert8.db file to remove intermediate certificates that Firefox has stored.
If that helped to solve the problem then you can remove the renamed cert8.db.old file. Otherwise you can rename (or copy) the cert8.db.old file to cert8.db to restore the previous intermediate certificates. Firefox will automatically store intermediate certificates when you visit websites that send such a certificate.
If that didn't help then remove or rename secmod.db (secmod.db.old) as well.
Delete the cert_override.txt file in the Firefox Profile Folder or rename the file to cert_override.txt.old to remove permanent exceptions stored in the file.
You can use this button to go to the currently used Firefox profile folder:
- Help > Troubleshooting Information > Profile Directory: Show Folder (Linux: Open Directory; Mac: Show in Finder)
