After installing Nightly, I can't set Firefox as default program to open saved .htm files. Nightly does not open them: it opens a new window instead.
I have Win 7 Ult 64-bit as my OS. I recently upgraded to 64-bit Java and started using Nightly rather than Firefox. Nightly is my default browser. I have a ton of saved web pages (saved as HTML (.htm) documents in my Documents directories. But if I click one now from Windows Explorer, instead of my saved document, I get a new blank Nightly window. If I right-click on an individual saved web page, I can manually designate Firefox as the program to open it with, but Windows will not allow me to designate Firefox as opposed to Nightly as the default program with which to open all such saved files. I have tried various routes. Only Nightly is an option. If I try to open Firefox from the older, red icon in the system tray, I get a new Nightly window. If I open one of these saved pages with IE, IE soon crashes. I used Firefox to save all these files. Thanks for any help.

Hi tds5, I know in windows 8 you can associate file types with applications in default programs, but I am not sure if this is a feature in windows 7.
This might do it. But its strange that Nightly does this, have you updated it recently? http://pcsupport.about.com/od/fixthep.../default-program-windows-7.htm
