How can I be sure "BCC" addresses don't show in an email I send out? Sometimes the person receiving can see all the addresses.
I sent out a newsletter to a list of addresses, all in the BCC field, with my own email in the "To" field. 2 of the replies had all the addresses showing in the copy of my email at the bottom. One was hotmail and one was yahoo.

I have read somewhere that some of the really old email programs did not hide the BCC addresses, but we are talking 20 year old dinosaurs here.
BCC lists are not visible to anyone other than in the sender's original sent copy. (Now, gmail removes that information from the stored 'Sent' copy)
There is nothing in the Header that shows the list, even if you 'View Source' of the message and look at the details hidden inside the message..
If there is no To: or CC: in a message, Thunderbird and some other advanced programs will show the TO; as 'Undisclosed Recipients'. Add your own address to the BCC: field and receive a copy of the message and compare it to the original. ...as long as you are not using gmail!
