I do receive messages in my Inbox, but when I click on the message, nothing happens, that action does not open the received message, and I can not read it. Right-click the Inbox folder, choose "Settings", then click the button labeled "Repair Folder".

Then (with the Inbox selected), press the ALT or F10 key to show the menu bar. Click File: Compact Folders.
