Authentication errors with Mozilla Discourse site
I have been trying to login to the Mozilla Discourse site at https://discourse.mozilla.org/ for days now. That is, I don't have an account there and to 'register' one has to go through this ridiculous procedure.
I'm sorry to post here but there is no contact at all on the discourse site, ..oh, unless you can login.
So, I select the 'email' option. It sends me an email with a link. When I try the link I get "Sorry, there was an error authorizing your account. Perhaps you did not approve authorization? "
I have read numerous other posts on the discourse site, where other people found the authorisation process difficult. Why can't Mozilla just have a plain/simple "register" process, ..name, username, password, ..done.

Same thing I have been wondering about - for quite awhile. By my count since that Discourse website was started a few years ago it is on its 3rd registration / login scheme. Geez, I wear a pair of socks for a longer time that Discourse has even been around! Cold water and gentle wash cycle with a mild detergent - a HELOISE tip.
Sorry, can't help with Discourse problems which has a totally different group of Admins running things over there. About all I can suggest is to use your Google account login. Somehow I ended up with 8 separate Google login username/password combinations and Discourse used the oldest one from when I set up my first Google Mail account.

Thanks for your reply. I like the pair of socks 'quip'. :)
Have now had some contact with the people at Discourse, via email, so that is a good start. I guess my concern is that we find a solution (ie. Google account login) to our individual problem, yet we have no indication of the magnitude of the problem, ... for others.
After a few attempts, most would give up, so it defeats the purpose of having a conversation/discourse (at Discourse).
