I recently updated from Firefox 52 to Firefox 61. Unfortunately the complete themes that used to be available are no longer available (I was using a legacy Firefox 2 reloaded, or if that didn't work, then Tangofox). My desktop computer, running Windows 7 Pro is used by somebody with a visual disability, who needs large bright icons at the top (bright so he can tell them apart, but this is also good for my 45-year old eyes). He needs a simple screen. I don't want tabs without a top edge (they are hard for him to tell apart). I don't want transparency (confusing), I don't want grey text on a grey background which is offered by many dark themes. I am having trouble finding one of your new built in themes that works for somebody that needs a simplified very bright theme where tabs and icons are easy to discern from one another. I miss my version 52. Help? What options do I have other than looking at a different browser though I've used Firefox for so many years I can't even count. Thanks.

Some of these issues can be addressed by applying custom style rules to Firefox's interface, which involves creating a userChrome.css file. The hard part is finding the bits and pieces you want to use.

Icons

It is possible to replace the standard icons with different ones, but I'm not very familiar with the "Tango" icons. Are those the ones you prefer?

Tab Outlines

This should be easy with style rules.

Transparency

Where does this appear that needs to be changed?

Grey text on Grey background

Where do you see that?

Thanks for your help... I couldn't even find the Firefox profile folder on the hard drive, so I think this option may be out for me.

Doesn't W7 O/S have a option to change your display for visual impaired users?

Hi PoodleMomma39, it's not hard to open your profile folder from inside Firefox. That's the trick. From outside Firefox, the path to the profile folder is hidden.

To set Windows to show hidden files and folders, see: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/14201/windows-show-hidden-files

For various methods to open the profile folder, see: Profiles - Where Firefox stores your bookmarks, passwords and other user data

But for the next step after that, I haven't tested the links in cor-el's post to see how easy it is to pop in a new set of buttons. If you try it, let us know how it goes.

Maybe this will help (on desktop and taskbar only) :

https://www.laptopmag.com/articles/change-icon-size-windows-10

Another thing that might help :

3-bar menu (or Tools) => Customize => Density : choose 'Touch'
