How can I use Mozilla Maintenance Service to update machines where the browser is not used?
Hello,
I am trying to use the Mozilla Maintenance Service in order to upgrade our standard corporate Firefox 60.1.0 ESR to the latest version. We have already enabled auto updating and users who use Firefox are perfectly fine and their browser updates silently with no issues. However, we have a large number of people who don't use Firefox ESR but have it installed. We've noticed that if the browser is not in use - it will not auto update, which is an issue in our case. I know that the Mozilla Maintenance Service supports some command line parameters. I've been playing around with them for quite some time with no luck whatsoever.
The wiki I'm referring to: https://wiki.mozilla.org/Windows_Service_Silent_Update
So my questions are: 1. Can I use Mozilla Maintenance Service to launch silent upgrade on users who don't start Firefox? 2. If yes - can someone please provide some examples as to how to use the command line parameters?
Thank you very much, Boyan

No, users will need to open the application in order to have the Maintenance Service run to update.
Unfortunately you can't have this done unless the user runs the program.

I'm pretty sure we can use a .mar file to update Firefox without having the users open the browser. I should be able to update via the Maintenance Service using a .mar file.
