I keep seeing explanations to click on Library and search for Bookmarks toolbar and "import" bookmarks from another browser, but there is no "Show Show all Bookmarks. From the toolbar in the Library window, click Import and Backup and choose Import Data from Another Browser..." None of this appears. Very few choices, actually. Is there something wrong with this supposedly "latest" version of Firefox, please. I wanted to duplicate my bookmarks from Chrome to which there was no problem uploading it from a stored HTML version.

BTW, it appears to take a huge amount of RAM. At one point Firefox kept climbing before my eyes to 8G of Ram. Is this normal? Thanks

From the Library menu, you want to select Bookmarks and then there should be a Show All Bookmarks option at the bottom of the list.

If you don't see it, you can also press Ctrl + Shift + B on your keyboard to open the Bookmark Manager window.

Hope this helps.

Many thanks to all who helped. The F10 suggestion solved the problem, though I had to jump through a few hoops to get the list where I wanted it. Later, I checked the Control Shift B solution and that revealed the stuff as well on top to find the way to import the bookmarks.

But the problem is that the earlier instructions, tapping on Library on the upper right did NOT include The Show All Bookmarks tab, followed by the Import selections and one wonders why? How indeed would one have known about those short cut keys which opened the Bookmark tab at the top, allowing for a solution? Firefox should take a look at the Library tab at the top right that did not work at all for me.

However, many thanks to those who responded, and I have imported my bookmarks successfully.

Still don't know why browsers take up so much memory, though. I have to check my Task Manager regularly and close out these ever "growing" Chrome and Firefox additions to the list that, when closed out, take nothing from what I've been viewing, i.e. the various tabs, so one wonders what is causing the extra memory usage? Anyway, it's a hassle, but at least it keeps my new computer from slowing down and building past 50% of its 12 G memory. Thanks again.

You can check the Firefox Task Manager (about:performance) and about:memory pages.

In the "Library -> Bookmarks" drop-down list you should see "Show All Bookmarks" at the very bottom below the "Recently Bookmarked" list and that is also not very noticeable as this list can be very long.

You can add the "Bookmarks Menu" button that shows the bookmarks in a drop-down list to the Navigation Toolbar via these steps:

  • click the bookshelf 57 library icon icon on the Navigation Toolbar or alternatively use the Library menu in the "3-bar" Firefox menu button New Fx Menu drop-down list
  • click Bookmarks
  • click "Bookmarking Tools", then click "Add Bookmarks Menu to Toolbar"
The Bookmark Menu button Bookmark Menu icon (star on tray) should appear on the Navigation Toolbar.

You can also drag the Bookmarks Menu button from the Customize palette to the Navigation Toolbar
