I can't copy pictures to my pictures folder from web sites etc.....
I have tried several times to copy pictures from web sites. When I right click on the photo I then click on "copy image". When I right click in my pictures the "Paste" button does not light up so I cannot copy the image(s).
I have just downloaded fire fox yesterday. Is there something I need to download or add-on to be able to copy pics etc. I never had this problem with Internet Explorer.
fixed the formatting

Try using Save Image As... instead.

Thank you very much. This works but it's not the same as the way I am used to when I used Internet Explorer. I'm sure in time it will come naturally to me. Again, THANX.!!!
when i right click i get save page as then when i go to pictures just the home.php icon is there what am i doing wrong ?
Right click on the image you want to copy. Then click on "save image as" & a box will appear & you can chose which file &/or folder you want to save it in & click " save". It's different from Internet Explorer but I got used to it quickly.!!!!
If you are still having trouble you can go to Add-Ons & add "Pixlr Grabber. After you add this to Firefox it will walk you through the steps.

using the right click and selecting "save image as" no longer works on rel 4.0. One of the add-in's no longer works causing this functionality to be lost. Additionally, the add-in "download sort" is still valid in rel 4.0 and this doesn't work either. you can use "View image Info" and do a save as from there.

with this browser you can't "save image as", it only has a "save page as", and that doesn't save an image as a JPEG, or any other common format, it's basically useless. the "pixlr", and other "add-ons" here, that allow you to "grab" images, and so on, are no better. besides, that's too much hassle. there's no option that works when it comes to images on "facebook", tho it does seem to work for images on "myspace", but who uses that anymore. iv'e wasted hours trying to resolve this problem. this sucks!@#&$

of course, after signing up with this page, providing my email, and asking the question - no ones seems to have the answer for - this system never did message me a reply, let alone answer. i'm sure i'll get junk mail, tho. ugg.

Regrettably, I am seriously considering switching back to Internet Explorer because of this problem and another I just discovered with Firefox ... it has inexplicably stopped allowing me to print out pages from websites. Never had that problem before. I love Firefox, but these two issues are major problems for me.
Open "Tools", then "Options", under the "General" tab set your download location place as "Pictures". This is only if all you download is pictures or photos. Whenever you go to download something a popup box opens near the top of your screen. NOTICE the location in that box. If it's not going to where you want it to, just 'backspace' it back to the slash mark and it gives you other options or locations instead. If you don't want the download popup box popping up with EVERY download, just hit the 'minus' or 'minimize' button in it and it'll stay at the bottom of your page.
Hope this helps.

I use Windows Vista Home Basic and WAS using Internet Explorers 7, 8 and 9 Beta. Believe me, I was having SO much trouble with FB and it's Apps that I HAD to try another avenue. I've now had Firefox for about 2 weeks and 90% of those problems have disappeared. Sure, it's different using Firefox, but it's so worth getting used to it instead of driving myself crazy with IE. Just have patience and take the time needed to switch and change over to Mozilla Firefox. The support, help and assistance is also 100% better too.
When trying to save a photo or picture in FACEBOOK, when the photo is up on your screen in FB's "black" viewer panel,,,hit the REFRESH BUTTON. It will take that photo back to FB's older version. You can capture them from there instead of in FB's "speacial black" viewing panel. This is NOT a Firefox thing,,,it's FACEBOOK constantly changing things on almost a daily or weekly basis.
