I have just installed Firefox 6, and Rapport no longer works - the same problem that you had with Firefox 5. What is happening?
You prompted me to install Firefox 6 this evening, as it addresses serious security/stability problems, but when I did this, the Rapport icon vanished from the address bar. Reinstalling the current version of Rapport has not fixed this. The same thing happened a few months ago with Firefox 5, and it took Rapport a week to develop a new compatible version. Why has this happened again? Do you not check this before launching new versions? Or, why at the very least do you not warn us beforehand that some programs will not work for X days? I'd prefer to be without the latest Firefox for a week or so rather than without Rapport - not least because my bank requires me to use Rapport.
Please advise ASAP.
Malcolm Oliver

Try using this extension to force compatibility.
Check and tell if its working.
Thanks, but I've downloaded that (and also re-reinstalled Rapport) and it makes no difference. Rapport has told me separately that they are "working on a fix", but didn't say how long that will take!
Until Rapport releases their Fix, use Mozilla Firefox, Portable Edition
Install Firefox Portable 5.0.1 to use at that web site. It won't affect your current version of Firefox at all. Check and tell if its working.
Thanks. That link actually only offers v6 or vv3x of Firefox Portable as far as I can see. But after a good night's sleep a more pragmatic solution has occurred to me, in that my laptop is still on Firefox 5 so I can use that pro tem for any transactions while Trusteer gets itself sorted. It would be nice though if there was a bit more forethought and liaison between the software companies when new versions come out - especially as Mozilla doesn't have the same commercial motive that presumably drives eg Microsoft to keep everything close to its chest.

Sorry you're having that problem with Trusteer Rapport. Trusteer needs to pay a little more attention to Mozilla's development process for Firefox, as every step of development is open to anyone who wants to participate or wants to test new pre-release versions of future versions of Firefox. Anything that would affect their add-on was "locked down" many weeks ago, and they could have started working on a new version for Firefox 6.0 weeks ago. Both Norton and AVG has update patches available yesterday, to coincide with the release of Firefox 6.0, it's a shame that Trusteer couldn't do the same.
I "test" the Aurora and Nightly versions of what will become Firefox 7 & 8, and I get an update every day; I know of users who test the hourly builds. Other than un-patched security Bugs, every part of Firefox development is open to anyone who wants to "test" or see what is going on.
Thanks for your comments - they say rather more eloquently what I assumed should be the case.

Thanks. That seems to work well on my PC as well. Trusteer said they would let me know as well when a fix was available, but I guess they have a lot of e-mails to send!
this worked for me after uninstalling the one i had restarting and loading the latest from

Thanks. I'm not sure that you actually need to uninstall the old version, though. On my PC, at least, the old version was detected when I started to install the new one, and one of the options was to install the new version over the old, deleting unnecessary old version files at the same time. Works well on my machine, including retaining the full event history.
