When I go to bookmarks menu I am able to alpha organize the bookmarks. How do I get the bookmarks to also be alpha ed in the pull down menu on the Firefox top page?

When I go to the bookmarks menu I click on "sort" , alpha and the list that appears there in the new opening is nicely organized by alpha. However, when I return to 'normal' usage of Firefox, internet, etc., the large list that is located under the "bookmarks" pull down menu at the top of the Firefox page is unchanged - obviously not alpha but probably in date order to my best guess. I have no idea how to fix this. Have tried everything I can think of.
