How do I get rid of tabs in Firefox 8? I just upgraded, and the check box to now use tabs is missing. If you don't now allow not using tabs, then what's the latest version of Firefox I can use and choose not to use tabs? Thanks I want to see a separate icon on the bottom line for every open firefox. The Options dialog should still let you choose between directing new windows to tabs or to new windows. Try here:

orange Firefox button or Tools menu > Options > Tabs

If you uncheck all the boxes on that tab, can you make Firefox work the way you want?
