When using Firefox, most of the buttons in gmail ("bold", "italics", "hyperlink", etc) are blank. They work in IE, which is why I reluctantly switched to that browser. I tried Aurora, and the gmail buttons come up blank there too. How do I or we fix this?

Do you mean that you see the buttons, but not the text?
Does that only happen with buttons or with other text as well?

Can you attach a screenshot?

Use a compressed image type like PNG or JPG to save the screenshot.

This can be a problem with the font that is used to display the text.

You can do a font test to see if you can identify corrupted font(s).

You can try different default fonts and temporarily disable website fonts to test the selected default font.

  • Tools > Options > Content : Fonts & Colors > Advanced
  • [ ] "Allow pages to choose their own fonts, instead of my selections above"

You can use this extension to see which fonts are used for selected text.
