Hi. I was using 32 bit Windows 7 until this morning. I formatted my laptop and installed Windows 8.1 x64.

I installed firefox and login sync with my account but sync didn't bring back my informations. I reset my password and tried again but result was the same.

I have Sync recovery key so i tried this: I tried to go to firefox > options > sync > set-up sync > i have an account > i don't have the device with me in order to link firefox to your existing account option, but there is only "create a new account" and "log in" options. There is no option to use recovery key. Please help me. I can't get back my bookmarks, passwords and extensions.

hello Atikun, firefox 29 and upwards is using a different sync system which isn't compatible with accounts set-up in older versions.

in this case you'd probably have to use a workaround and download the prior firefox version, disable automatic updating for the moment (in options > advanced > update), link it to the old sync account and upgrade after you have successfully restored your data this way...

Install an older version of Firefox
Sync your Firefox bookmarks, history, passwords and more

Hi. Thank you so much for your help. I installed firefox 28 without deleting firefox 29.0.1. Then i used my recovery key and login info on firefox 28. All my information came back. Then i went to Help > About Firefox and firefox updated itself to firefox 29.0.1 again. No problems left at the moment.
