I can receive e-mails with no problems, but every time I try to send an e-mail, this is the error I get: Sending of message failed. The message could not be sent because the connection to SMTP server smtp.centurylink.net timed out. Try again or contact your network administrator. My server settings are correct – I have checked them repeatedly. Please help me!!

Do you have any other email accounts setup on Thunderbird? Or have have you previously had any other accounts setup?

Okay and the email you are trying to send from is a centurylink.com email account? Can you check the settings to make sure the port is correct?

Port 587 TLS if available

The e-mail is from a centurylink.net account, and I have checked my settings over and over again to make sure they are correct. I have discussed this issue with Century Link repeatedly as well, so it's something with Mozilla Thunderbird.
