Some problems occurs when your Internet security program was set to trust the previous version of Firefox, but no longer recognizes your updated version as trusted. Now how to fix the problem: To allow Firefox to connect to the Internet again;
- Make sure your Internet security software is up-to-date (i.e. you are running the latest version)
- Remove Firefox from your program's list of trusted or recognized programs, then add it back. For detailed instructions, see
Configure firewalls so that Firefox can access the Internet. {web link}
Firefox started working just as suddenly as it stopped working??????? I don't know what happened but it suddenly started working again today (might have been yesterday I did not try it yesterday). I was trying to change my firewall settings as posted above and there were no entries in Norton 360's trusted programs list so I hit help in Norton and Firefox opened and the Norton help page opened and it was working (I still had Firefox as my default browser) I opened a few more pages just to be sure and they all worked. I don't know what happened!!!!!
