firefox keeps crashing - not in any particular order or time. Most often when I have a few windows open. I have updated and done all of the suggested troubleshooting methods, except starting in safe mode as it isn't consistent when it crashes.

That is where the problem lies .Please do not update . updates are causing problems why it happens even i do not know .But i can tell you a possible solution . Unistall Mozilla ( u can keep ur history data and all ) . then install tune up utilities .Run it .Then download a new Mozilla firefox and install . If you want a newer version .Donot update .Unistall and then download and install a newer version .And do not worry about bookmarks , history , it retains These updates are creating some kind of problem .They even use up a lot of RAM

No problems here. Does the Mozilla Crash Reporter come up? If so,

  1. Open Firefox.
  2. Go to Help>Troubleshooting Information. That should open a new tab with info about your Firefox setup.
  3. Under "Crash Reports for the Last 3 Days" click on your latest crash report. That should take you to a web page starting with "https://crash-stats.mozilla.com/report/index/" and post the address of your latest crash report.

We can then look at the data specific to your crash and have a better idea of what is causing the problem.

If you have submitted crash reports then please post the IDs of one or more recent crash reports that have a "bp-" prefix:

  • bp-xxxxxxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxxxxxxxxxx

You can find the Report ID of recent crash reports on the "Help > Troubleshooting Information" page (about:support).

  • Click the "All Crash Reports" button on this page to open the about:crashes page and see all crash reports.

If necessary then you can open about: pages via the location/address bar.

If the "bp-" prefix is missing then click its line on the about:crashes page to submit the crash report and the crash report will get a "bp-" prefix (do not add it yourself).

They have the same cash signature, which indicates a Flash plugin container crash. That means the problem is somewhere in the Flash plugin. Try some of the suggestions in the Adobe Flash plugin has crashed - Prevent it from happening again article.

Hi Chris - I did all that, several times. I have now uninstalled it and reinstalled it - maybe that will work?
