When I click on a Table of Contents on a page, which invokes a new URL with the hash mark [#] in the URL, FF (v33) simply reloads the page as-is, but fails to take me to the relevant part of the page the new URL points to. Can I fix this?

There could be a problem with the page itself. Let's try this first;

  • 1

Load the web page. (While you are at it, please post the link) After the page is loaded, hold down the <Shift> and reload the page. Does this help?

Remove History For One Site Open the History Manager <Control><Shift> H. In the search bar, enter the name of the site. Right click on one of the listings and select Forget About This Site. This should remove all information, including any password.

Then try again. Let us know how you are doing.

Thanks Fred,

I was afraid you'd ask for the URL...unfortunately, the page is on our intranet (a Confluence enterprise wiki), so not publicly accessible. If you can think of any similar pages with ToCs I you could point me to, I could see if there's a difference.

I tried reloading the page holding the shift key down. I also tried removing the history for the site, both had no effect. I still see the new URL when I click on the ToC (ie. the page URL plus the additional location info after the hash mark to show the new URL is loaded), but the browser points to the top of the page instead of the specified location further down....

Okay, the last thing to check is the link you are using. Something about it gets you to the page, but not what you want. Or, the page itself is the problem. Talk to you tech and see that they say.

Last thing; If you can, try his from another computer, or have a co-worker.
