I have been using Eudora OSE (which is basically a gui on top of Thunderbird as I understand it) and would like to switch to Thunderbird. My question : since the folder/email/settings for Eudora are found under Thunderbird is AppData can I simply install Thunderbird and it will have all my email/settings/etc ? or am I going to have to set up Thunderbird from scratch ?

Hi Don. I have a colleague who is looking at exactly the same issue.

So may I suggest, back up your OSE Profile, and give it a try.

Tell us your results. And when I learn more at my end, I will share.

I took the tech's suggestion Backed up Euroda files and simply installed Thunderbird VOILA ! When I launched Thunderbird it simply accessed the same files and file structure (and settinge/etc) as Eudora and I didn't have to do anything ... awesome !
