same emails download multiple times
each time Thunderbird is opened emails that were previously downloaded are downloaded again. I.E.--I have to wait while Firefox is downloading 1 or 134 Important and 2 of 300 All Mail......

I assume this is Gmail. Do you have Thunderbird 31.7.0? because I thought the bugs that caused that for gmail were all fixed in the current version.
Thank you, Matt- I do NOT have Thunderbird 31.7.0, but have 31.6.0 I can't seem to find a way to upgrade to the 31.7.0 version. Can you help?

Oh, yeah---I did that before responding to you and it says that "I am up to date". Don't know where to go from here
I suggest you give the TB28 beta a test drive. https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/thunderbird/channel/
It is only a week or two from release so stability is not an issue.
Where did you get the version 31.7.0 ? Did you get it from the beta site? I just want to know how you had this new version before I could get it.
