I have tried over and over and it will not recognize my master password. I actually had a similar problem with the regular password before going with the master. If I reset the "master" password I need to know that it won't delete all my passwords where I use them like ebay, apple or emails. I don't want to be locked out of sites or the loose them on this computer. when you say it removes them all, do you just mean the ones I have entered for firefox? WHAT DO YOU MEAN IT WILL REMOVE ALL? from my computer????

Warning: Resetting your master password will remove all of your saved usernames and passwords.

In the Firefox location bar, enter the following location:
   chrome://pippki/content/resetpassword.xul
   Press Return.
The "Reset Master Password" page will appear. Click the Reset button, to reset your master password.

Yes, resetting the Master Password or deleting key3.db will remove all password that are stored in the Password Manager.

If you use the Time Machine then try to restore the logins.json and key3.db files from that backup in case you remember the MP you used in the past.

Make a backup of the current versions of these files.

You can use this button to go to the current Firefox profile folder:

Master Password is internal to Firefox and its files. No way to "email" the Master Password to you. As cor-el mentioned, if you reset your Master Password all your will be deleted - in Firefox only; won't affect passwords for other programs on that Mac.
