Installed new version of Firefox. When I first opened options, I did not find a way to close the tab. While using Firefox, it will appear in a new tab. If I close the tab,it will again appear.

I will close the option tab, and then close Firefox, but the next time I open Firefox, the options tab reappears.

Who can I stop this from recurring?

Type about:config<enter> in the address bar. If a warning screen comes up, press the Be Careful button. At the top of the screen is a search bar. Type browser.startup.homepage.

Click on this to edit. Look for |about:preferences#general or |about:preferences and remove it.
