Thunderbird crashes the moment i delete an email [@ nsScriptSecurityManager::CanCreateWrapper ] compact crash
Since a week or so, Thunderbird keeps crashing regularly. After a while it appeared only to be so whenever I either delete an email from my inbox, or move it from my inbox to a folder. anyone an idea? I tried de-installing it and then reinstalling, but the same problem persisted.

While I have no concrete answer, looking at the comments on the reports it looks like each case the issue involves deleting or making the relevant folder storage file smaller.
While I do not really think this will "fix" the problem it is a necessary step. But there is also the might fix it factor.
Windows key + X Select disk management from the menu. For the C: drive right click and select properties. On the general tab select disk cleanup. On the Tools tab select optimize and defragment the drive. (This will probably require a reboot.) The defragment will check the drive for errors. Hopefully you have none, but you never know.
Please report results. This is far from done I think.

These kinds of problems often occur if you have an antivirus program scanning the mail folders: TB updates, and the AV program is incompatible with the new version.
Disable the email option in your AV, if it is on, and see if TB performance changes.
sounded plausible, but I don't seem to find the email option in Windows Defender nor McAffee...
For McAfee, here are the instructions. Also, disable the McAfee Anti-spam extension in TB if it's present in Tools/Add-ons/Extensions.

I suggest you uninstall it anyway (it's a free program) while you're diagnosing the problem. Then, start TB in safe mode (hold Shift when you launch TB), and see if there is any change. If not, start Windows in safe mode and check for changes in performance. Please report your results.
Done, and done. Nothing changes. Even in safe mode, keeps chrashing.
Just to be clear, you uninstalled the McAfee utility and ran TB in safe mode, and it still crashes. Did you try in Windows safe mode? Your first post says you did an uninstall and re-install of TB, to no effect. Does this mean you deleted the entire ..\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Thunderbird folder, then downloaded and ran the full installer from here?
this is what i did: - deinstalled mcaffee - deinstalled TB
problem was not solved next i did: - delete TB-folder - deinstalled TB - restarted laptop - restarted laptop again - installed TB again

Do you mean TB safe mode or Windows safe mode, i.e. start Windows in safe mode then run TB in normal mode.

Try this: select Help/Troubleshooting Information, click Open Folder, close TB, open the Mail or ImapMail folder (for POP and IMAP accounts, respectively), then open the subfolder for an account, and delete the Trash and Trash.msf files. Restart TB and see if you can delete a message without a crash.
I did this, and now I'm unable to delete mails. there's no trashfolder anymore... If i move a message to a subfolder it still crashes...

sorry, been a week out, had some other things to fix. Funnily enough, yesterday morning it suddenly ceased happening. Maybe an update happened, I have no idea, but thunderbird works like a doll again. Still, thx for the support!
We are working on an updated version to fix this crash. (It is not yet fixed as of version 52.1.0) Until then, there is a fair chance you will see the crash again.
