Our Thunderbird emial account is set up with a current password. However, we need to change that password to a new one. I can't find an option to change that existing password. I can only find the option to create a Master password, which I do not want to do. I just want to change the existing password.

Well, you don't have a Thunderbird password (other than the Master Password, and you have clearly stated that is not the issue), nor a Thunderbird account. Your email account will have come from an email provider - probably your ISP, and you need to work with them to change the account's password.

Generally, if the password of an email account fails to log you in, Thunderbird will ask you to enter the new password, so you usually don't need to go out of your way.

However, you can review, edit and delete the passwords stored in Thunderbird.

In Thunderbird, go to Tools|Options|Security|Passwords and click the button "Saved Passwords". Right-click or double-click a login or password to edit it.

What leads you to say that you need to change your email account's password?

Press the Alt key to make the Menu Bar appear and use Tools there. When you are using he AppMenu button Options is a choice in the main menu so you do not need to use Tools. That Options works also.

You should read instructions closer.

And do not yell at me because you can't.

Read the post link to the chart for menus for your operating system posted above.

Next time you post to a thread stared by and answered for a Windows user you might mention your operating system.

Edit|Preferences.

And it's better to start a new thread than hijack someone else's. The OP was using a mac; I hadn't noticed you were a third party.
