In my previous version of TB, I could hold down a key and have a character repeat (xxxxxx) but can't find how to do it with this version (52.6). Do i need to download an app or is there a chortcut please? Thanks

Works for me here in Windows 10.

Key repeat is a function of the OS, keyboard and driver.

Does it work in other applications?

Have selected key repeat option in OS system preferences but it has not translated to working in thunderbird emails. Any other ideas welcome.

Restart Thunderbird with add-ons disabled (Thunderbird Safe Mode). On the Help menu, click on "Restart with Add-ons Disabled". If Thunderbird works like normal, there is an Add-on or Theme interfering with normal operations. You will need to re-enable add-ons one at a time until you locate the offender.
