I am trying to get my computer to run faster. Keyboard clicks dont appear right away when typing.

In my activity monitor I see four FirefoxCP web content process names as active, they are using over 1G of memory. I also see firefox and thats using 320MB. Pic attached.

Can I turn off the 4 FirefoxCP web content process names that are active?

Please let me know.

Thanks roosh

Hi, no you can not as that is Firefox running. 320megs is great. As to the 1gig that can happen also. Firefox is now multi-process so is running on all cores of your computer chip. As well it supports multi-thread processing. I would look else where to save ram. Have programs and services that do not need to be active at boot stopped until start the program up. Add-ons/Extensions can use up to 20megs each and those would be one of the icons displayed as would the Sandbox when video/audio is involved.

If these things are having a adverse effect, like hangs or lockups or system is slow moving than you can do this : https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/performance-settings in this area you will see the pic showing where Performance is and untick everything. change the recommended size lower, then see how it runs. Note: 1 = No Multiprocessor = slow again. Try 2 Restart Firefox after making these changes please.

Note : Acceleration is for your Video Card, monitor to see if need to turn back on. Also note that turning down can make it use more.
