Note: Windows users should download the ActiveX for Internet Explorer. and the plugin for Plugin-based browsers (like Firefox).

Note: Windows 8 and Windows 10 have built-in flash players and Adobe will cause a conflict. Install the plugin only. Not the ActiveX.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web link} by holding down the <Shift> (Mac=Options) key, and then starting Firefox.

A small dialog should appear. Click Start In Safe Mode (not Refresh). Is the problem still there?

No safe mode doesn't solve the problem, if you didn't understand question well everytime i press shift it just opens sidebar. i probably changed some hotkey accidentaly and now i can't use shift.... because it opens the bar instead of doing whats it supposed to do....only in mozilla

The bookmarks sidebar would normally open iwth the Ctrl+B keyboard shortcut.

Did you try to close and restart Firefox or reboot the computer?

Firefox doesn't have a feature to change keyboard shortcuts. (I don't think Firefox add-ons can modify the Shift key except in combination with other keys.)

Is it possible some other program on your system is translating the Shift key to Ctrl+b? Perhaps not, if it only happens in Firefox...

Do you use any software that could modify keys sent to Firefox? Some users report odd issues with "anti-keylogger" features of security software (like ZoneAlarm) because Firefox gets a different keycode than expected.
