My emails have always worked fine and without any problems but this morning they suddenly stopped downloading. The 'Get Messages' button does not seem to work and the only way that I can retrieve new emails is to close Thunderbird and reopen it. This way, they download instantly. They come through on my phone fine without any problem, which is how I know that I have a new email. I have waited up to half an hour for them to come through but they just don't come through.

The time to get new emails was set at 10 minutes as default. I changed this to 2 minutes but it made no difference. I literally have to close it and reopen it in order to get new emails.

I use zoho as a server and this morning they had an outage for about half an hour. I have emailed them to see if this would have made any difference but I can't see how as the emails are coming through on my phone which is obviously the same server settings.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you so much

I have just tried to join the 'mozillazine' forum but apparently there is not 7 (or 'seven') letters in mozilla and I have failed security! I simply cannot get an answer to this problem.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled thunderbird, I have started the program in safe mode disabling all plugins... nothing is working!

I am using Zoho and they are not getting back to me either but I am sure that they will tell me that the problem is thunderbird and not their end. The only thing I can think of is on Monday Zoho were down as I said, but my business partner uses them also and his emails are coming through ok. I really do not get it.

I have googled and read lots of other people with similar problems but aside from the above steps that I have already tried there doesn't seem to be an answer to my problem.

Is there anything else that I can do? It is really annoying having to close it and re-open it in order to download a new email

Thanks

Is the other user also using Thunderbird, or a different email client?

Hi, yes he is also using Thunderbird. We have both used it for 2 years now and I've always used it previously without any issues. This is a new issue that I have not experienced before.

Any help at all would be hugely appreciated. If somebody could post this on the other forum and put the replies here/send people here to help I'd also appreciate that as I can't join it as I said above.

Thanks again
