Been happily using firefox for months now with same privacy settings:

History:

- Use custom settings
- Clear history when firefox closes -> settings: all except cookies checked

Cookies and Site Data:

- Accept cookies, Keep until Firefox is close
- In Exceptions I've got bunch of sites with allowed cookies

So, normally all cookies except allowed ones have been cleared on firefox exit. But now for some reason cookie exceptions list disappears on exit.

Something I've already tried:

- It happens when all extensions are disabled
- deleted permissions.sqlite

Any ideas?

You need to exclude the Site Preferences if you want to keep the exception.

  • clearing "Site Preferences" clears exceptions for cookies, images, pop-up windows, and software installation and exception for password and other website specific data

You can set network.cookie.thirdparty.sessionOnly to true on the about:config page to make third-party cookies behave as session cookies that expire when Firefox is closed.

Note: Some software, like Advanced SystemCare with Surfing Protection, can protect files in the Firefox profile folder against changes. If you have such software then check the settings or uninstall this software.

Don't have such tools. Using SQLite browser I can see that exception is stored to moz_perms table but when i exit it immediately disappears.
