A good friend set us up on Thunderbird years ago, and he has passed away since. I have manage to lose my name on the opening screen and I have no ideal how to set it back up. My wife's is still there.

Did you hide the folder pane that shows all accounts? Enable it from View/Layout/Folder Pane. Press Alt if the Menu Bar is hidden.
