Bug? Message filter fails to forward emails while regular emails are being sent fine
Hi,
I have a rule of forwarding emails of certain type. Whenever the rule is triggered, I received the following error:
Sending of the message failed. The message could not be sent because the connection to Outgoing server (SMTP) imap-mail.outlook.com timed out. Try again.
What I tried? ● Changing to a different SMTP port = didn't work ● Changing to a different SMTP provider = didn't work
I have 3 different SMTP provider and sending regular emails through them works perfectly fine. There is something wrong with the email forwarding settings of Thunderbird.
Any idea how to solve this issue?

Update: When I choose to forward the emails as an attachment, it sends them. It not a preferable option for me though.
It doesn't forward the emails at all with inline.
imap-mail.outlook.com is not an outgoing server name, it is an incoming one.
Go to the outgoing server (SMTP) entry in the account settings and check tthe actual server names used. I am guessing you have two outgoing servers configured and one has the wrong server name.
Log into your outlook.com account and access the synchronization settings and actually see what they say the server name should be.
For my hotmail account they specify Server name: smtp.office365.com Port: 587 Encryption method: STARTTLS
I have the same issue and it's with a SMTP server that I also use manually. The message does not tell me which message had the problem nor the status of that message. Is it in my Outbox so I can resend? Apparently not. Is it retrying? I can't tell. Do I have to go back to the original incoming message and do the forwarding manually? Not if it's retrying, since the recipient could then get it twice. I'm running Thunderbird 60.8.0 on Windows 10 v1903 Build 18362.295
