Sumo is totally confusuing. I signed up to help, and received the following email: It says "please send us an email ..." but DOES NOT SAY TO WHOM TO SEND THE EMAIL. (The sender is "notifications@support.mozilla.org". Replying to that does not work.

Hi Joe P

Thanks so much for your interest in helping users of Mozilla technologies!

We would love to find a good place for you to help users, so please send us an email with your username and the area you would like to get involved. Please feel free to add all your skills, we will try to find the right use for them :)

Click here to find out where to help.

There are several ways in which you can get involved:

Forum Contributor - Answer user support questions that are most-requested but have no replies. As you’re getting started, you might be worried about facing situations that can scare away any new contributor: “What if I encounter an angry user who doesn’t want to cooperate?”, “What if I don’t know the answer?”) Don’t worry, we’ve all been there! That’s why we've put together this guide to help you navigate tough situations and keep the forum a positive place for both you and the people you help. Learn the essentials for new contributors here. Twitter Contributor - Respond to tweets about Firefox. Social Support Contributor - Respond to tweets about Firefox as the Firefox Brand account. KB Editor - Help to update knowledge base articles that need changes or write new articles. L10N Contributor - Help to translate Firefox Help content to your language. Let us know which of the above you would be interested in and we’ll help you get started. It’s great to have you onboard!

Welcome to SUMO!

Welcome to SUMO! Hopefully you will enjoy contributing here.

I'm not sure about the message that you have received. It's been a while since I received the new contributor message. You can probably see the message in your SUMO inbox, where you can also see the user that sent it and their profile. Every profile has a private message link for communication and some of them also have an email address posted.

You can also post any questions that you have about contributing in the contributor forum section and other contributors here are usually willing to help.

I've also sent you (via private messages) a link to the Telegram group that the contributors use. You can also post questions there, if you have any.

If you are looking to answer user questions here, the Answering questions on the Support Forum page is a good place to start and learn more about the process.

I don't think you correctly interpreted my question. But, I could have made it clearer. The email I received is shown, BELOW MY QUESTION. THE EMAIL BEGAN WITH THE "Hi Joe". Everything thereafter is the email. Read it. And then tell me to whom and how I was supposed to reply (if you can).

The problematic language is just the 2nd paragraph. "We would love to find a good place for you to help users, so please send us an email with your username and the area you would like to get involved. Please feel free to add all your skills, we will try to find the right use for them :) "

Hi Joe,

Thanks for reaching out about the email! The email you received is automated with your name appended to it. Unfortunately, there has been a change in community management and Michał and Rachel are no longer with us. Thus, the information your received is a bit out of date.

Please email Rizki Kelimutu (Kiki) and/or Giulia Guizzardi so they are able to guide you in the right direction. You can find their contact information on this page. My apologies for the confusing message. Your concern will be brought up the the SUMO team.

Additionally, we can assist you over on our contributor forum.
