I've Thunderbird 78.1.1 on a Macbook Pro running Catalina 10.15.6. While my Mac is v fast, Thunderbird is extremely slow in all actions - reading emails, replying, even clicking on a folder brings up the blue wheel. I've only added 3 of my email accounts as of now, 2 of which are very new with v few emails. I've NO add-ons currently. I'm wondering if I should just uninstall it. What I've tried till now: 1) Removed indexing 2) Deleted .msf files & reopened & compacted folders again (automatic compacting is on) 3) Added Thunderbird to the list of anti-virus exclusions 4) Set gfx.direct2d.disabled to true and layers.acceleration.disabled to true. 5) Proxies - use system proxy settings 6) Tried running it in safe mode 7) Deleted caches from the OS & restarted

Any advice?

Hi, I'm still seeing the same issues using version 78.4.0. Resending the message:

I've Thunderbird 78.4.0 on a Macbook Pro running Catalina 10.15.7. While my Mac and the internet connection is v fast, Thunderbird is extremely slow in all actions - reading emails (even if there's only 1 new email), replying, even clicking on a folder brings up the blue wheel. I've only added 3 of my email accounts as of now, 2 of which are very new with v few emails. I've NO add-ons currently. I'm wondering if I should just uninstall it.
