I just downloaded Thunderbird and I'm curious if you're sending out multiple emails at once, are you able to schedule them so they can send XX minutes apart? In other words, can you throttle your emails in a way that is possible to a mail merge software?

Thunderbird doesn't do that. There may be an add-on for this though. https://addons.thunderbird.net/thunderbird/

There is an add-on to schedule sending, and it might be useful for sending to mailing lists at staggered intervals.
