I am running Thunderbird version 78.9.0 on a Windows 10 desktop.

I have been organizing my Inbox into subfolders. The desktop Inbox has about 6 fewer emails than are shown in the Profile Inbox subfolder. One of the emails in the Profile Inbox sub-folder is causing an MBOX to PDF converter program to lock up. My question is how can I get the desktop and Profile inbox folders to be in sync so I can get rid of the Profile email that is locking up the converter program. I have tried the Folder Repair option but that did not result in a sync.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I figured out a solution which fixed the problem. I emptied the Trash folder and restarted the computer. After the restart, the Profile and Desktop Inbox folders were identical.

I am glad you fixed it because I really have no idea what the desktop and profile inbox stuff was all about. Let alone the actual issue of them not being in sync.
